For promoting entrepreneurship, the government provides special benefits to small businesses in the form of subsidies and incentives. Also, banks give loans at concessional rates to set up these businesses. For availing those, the small businesses need to register under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) act.Details Required for MSME Registration .

2.  Name of entrepreneur as per Aadhar card
3.  Type of organisation (Proprietorship, partnership firm, private or public limited company, limited liability partnership, co-operative society, Hindu undivided family, self-help group, society or trust)
4. PAN card
5.  Social category (General, OBC, SC/ST)
6.  Name of enterprise
7.  Location of plant/unit
8.  Office address of the entreprise
9.  Date of commencement of business or incorporation or registration of enterprise
10.  Bank account number and IFSC code
11.  Business activity of an enterprise
12.  NIC code of the primary activity
13.  Number of employees
14. Investment amount in plant and machinery (if there is no investment in plant and machinery, entrepreneurs can write it as zero)
15.  Turnover (if there is no turnover, entrepreneurs can write it as zero)

Classification Investment in plant and machinery or equipment Turnover -

1. Micro enterprise Not more than ₹ 1 Crore Not more than ₹5 Crore
2. Small Enterprises Not more than ₹10 Crore Not more than ₹ 50 Crore
3. Medium Enterprises Not more than ₹ 50 Crore Not more than ₹ 250 Crore
